Our Mission
We want every American to have access to unbiased, expert financial guidance where cost is not an issue.
Our Story
After working for decades in financial services and fintech, our founding team realized what recent research has started to highlight:
That financial coaching is the most effective way to help you make progress on your money.
The problem with financial coaching is that it's expensive (because of the costs to hire coaches) and it takes a lot of time (think paper forms and having to bring all your statements to an in-person first meeting that may not be close to where you live or work). Because of this, very few people ever make it to a first meeting and of those, even fewer appear to make it to a second meeting.
So we started to think about how we could lower the cost and make it much easier for people to get in touch with an unbiased expert who could help develop a plan and provide ongoing support.
Through the Foundation for Financial Planning, we came to find out that over 15,000 financial planners in the U.S. already give back through pro-bono events in their community. That's when it clicked - let's create a platform designed for these advisers that uses the high touch, high tech financial coaching program developed with leading behavioral scientists at Duke University. Our hope is that we can make it easy for 100,000 more advisors to participate and give back to their communities through AdvisersGiveBack.org.
