Advisers Give Back Español Get started — it’s free

Free help from a financial adviser in your corner.

For people and families. A volunteer meets you one-on-one.

No judgment. Advisers must put your interests first and can’t sell you anything.

What’s the catch? There isn’t one.

  • Nothing to buy, ever. We’re a nonprofit. Advisers can’t take you on as a paying client.

  • On your side. Advisers are fiduciaries: they must put your interests first. Before you meet, we check their credentials and look up their record with regulators.

  • It’s how advisers give back. CFP Board recommends that CFP® professionals give at least 20 hours of free, pro bono help a year. We help advisers get there by connecting them with the people who can benefit most from their advice.

Three steps to a plan of your own.

By phone, at a time you pick, through our line.

How we count

These numbers are from our impact dashboard as of October 21, 2026. It updates every week. We count everyone who has signed up since 2021, and round down to the nearest hundred. 546 people answered our survey after a first meeting. Of them, 91.6% felt more confident. “Kind” means they rated their adviser “kind and empathetic” as excellent or good.

Every question is a fair one.

What if my finances are a mess?

Then you’re in the right place. Your adviser starts wherever you are.

What can an adviser help me with?

Paying off debt, saving for emergencies, or a big step like buying a home. Bring any money question you have.

Can I meet with my adviser more than once?

Yes. Meet as many times as you and your adviser find useful.

Can my adviser speak my language, or share my background?

You can ask for that when you sign up. We have a limited number of advisers who can, so we can’t always promise a match.

Who can sign up?

You can sign up if your household earns under $100,000 a year, or $150,000 for a couple. Savings must be under $250,000. You don’t need a job, and you can start with little or nothing saved.
